Education that respects the pace of real learning
We are an online AI development school based in Kuala Lumpur, built around the belief that people learn better when the material has room to settle.
Back to HomeHow Pintar Labs came to be
Pintar Labs started from a straightforward observation: most online AI courses are either too shallow to be useful or so dense they drive people away before the interesting parts begin. The founders — a group of software engineers and educators who had watched this pattern repeat across workplaces in Kuala Lumpur — decided to try something different.
The school opened its first cohort in early 2022 with a single programme and a waiting list. The feedback from those first learners shaped everything that followed: keep lessons short, keep cohorts small, and make sure every piece of work a learner produces is something they can actually use.
Today Pintar Labs runs three programmes covering the full arc from first Python script to deployed AI system. The school operates fully online but maintains a Kuala Lumpur address for learners who prefer to meet in person for study sessions.
What we are here to do
Pintar Labs exists to make AI development accessible to working people in Malaysia — not through shortcuts, but through a learning design that fits around a real life. We believe technical education should be calm, cumulative, and connected to local industries that matter.
Our programmes are designed with patience in mind. Concepts are introduced in the order that makes them stick, practice is tied to realistic datasets, and every learner has access to a mentor who knows their progress. We do not rush completion; we care about comprehension.

Who you will work with
Ahmad Fadzil
Lead Instructor & Co-founder
Ahmad has spent a decade building data systems for logistics and retail companies across Southeast Asia. He designed the first two Pintar Labs programmes and leads the machine learning cohorts.
Nurul Raihanah
Programme Director
Nurul manages cohort scheduling, learner progress, and curriculum refinement. She came to Pintar Labs from a background in instructional design and ensures every programme is well-paced and clearly sequenced.
Zulhazri Hamdan
Senior Mentor – Production Track
Zulhazri leads the Production-Grade AI Systems programme. He has shipped ML-powered features at two fintech companies and brings that practical orientation to every project review session.
Standards we hold ourselves to
Curriculum reviewed each cohort
At the end of every cohort cycle, instructors review feedback and adjust lesson sequencing, exercise files, and reading materials. The content stays current with how the field is actually moving.
Learner data handled with care
We collect only what is necessary to run the programme and communicate clearly. Learner information is not shared with third parties for advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains the full picture.
Cohort sizes stay small
We cap enrolment numbers deliberately. This is not a production decision — it is the only way to ensure that every learner gets meaningful mentor attention rather than a generic automated reply.
Projects grounded in real data
Exercise datasets are drawn from publicly available Malaysian and regional sources where possible. Learners work with data shapes they are likely to encounter in the workplace, not artificially clean academic sets.
Feedback that is actually useful
Mentor feedback on submitted work is written, specific, and tied to the code or analysis in question. We do not use rubrics that produce boilerplate responses — each review is read and responded to by a person.
Transparent about what we are not
Pintar Labs is an education provider, not a recruitment agency or certification body. We are clear about what each programme prepares you for and where additional study or experience would help.
AI education designed for working adults in Malaysia
Malaysia's technology sector has grown considerably over the past decade, and with that growth has come a genuine demand for people who can work with data and build AI-enabled systems. Most of that demand sits not in research labs but in companies — retail businesses looking to improve inventory decisions, logistics firms managing last-mile complexity, financial services organisations dealing with unstructured data.
Pintar Labs was built for the people who work in or near those organisations and want to develop skills that are useful in that context. The three programmes progress from foundational Python and data literacy through applied machine learning to the deployment and monitoring of systems that run in production. The arc is deliberate: skills compound rather than fragment.
The school is based in Kuala Lumpur and teaches in English. Programmes are delivered entirely online, which means learners from Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, and elsewhere join the same cohorts and bring different industry perspectives to group discussions. The mix tends to enrich the work.
Pintar Labs is not affiliated with any university or professional certification body. What we offer is structured, mentor-supported learning that produces tangible work — code, notebooks, and deployed systems — rather than a transcript. Many learners find that combination more useful for their actual goals.
